Tongue Tie - Plain Point stainless steel, plain point Grooved Director and Tongue Tie contains a plain point at one end and a butterfly-shaped director on the other end. This stainless steel instrument is typically used during a frenotomy to lift the tongue back and expose the frenulum. The frenulum would rest on the grooved part of the director and then be cut with iris scissors. Depending on the patient, this device is offered in various lengths.

The handle contains a finger cut-off to rest the finger on, and the tube is angled near the base. The intended purpose of this instrument is to eliminate the operating area of any fluids or substances that may be present so that the surgeon is provided with a clear view. Thus, the suction tube may be used for general surgeries and even gynecological procedures.
